WHO WE ARE

OUR CORE PRINCIPLES

Community

We feel that each young person should belong and have a positive role within their community.

Support

It is our intention to ensure that each young person is equipped and confident to make positive choices

Equality

KYC is open to any young person regardless of gender, sexuality, disability, culture or religion.

Knights Youth Centre (KYC) is situated on Clapham Park Estate, Lambeth and delivers a service for young people aged 8-25.

KYC promotes a service which is representative of the local community. KYC is open to any young person regardless of gender, sexuality, disability, culture or religion. It is our philosophy to promote the welfare of the young people, provide positive experiences and opportunities that will enable each young person to become more self confident, safe, ready for adulthood and independence through delivering universal and targeted services with the community five days per week.

We endeavour to provide a whole community approach. This means listening and sharing with parents, carers, families, neighbours and faith groups.

KYC delivers centre, street, school and community based programmes providing a spectrum of child and youth opportunities including classic activities such as sports, table tennis, cooking, sports, creative arts, employment support and work experience. We also deliver a wide range of offsite trips and residentials throughout the year.

HOW WE WORK

We believe that each young person is unique, talented and beautiful. For many KYC is home. It is our intention to ensure that each young person is equipped and confident to make positive choices which enables them to live an independent, interdependent and successful life.

We feel that each young person should belong, have a positive role and place within their community. We endeavour to provide a whole community approach. This means listening and sharing with parents, carers, families, neighbours, shop owners and local services and faith groups.
