Our Youth Service Director, Stu Thomson, has decided to move on after 18 years of service at KYC.

During these years Stu has provided invaluable support, fun and transformative services for so many local young people. Highlights have included:

  • Supporting more than 700 young people after school
  • Delivery of more than 5,000 sessions
  • Providing 255 young adults with a professional future via TYLAP
  • Completing 86 residentials across the UK and into Europe
  • Leading 4 international social action projects with young people from KYC

Stu will be with KYC until the end of the year and during this time is fully committed to supporting the organisation to prepare for the next phase.

KYC has been delivering positive and vital support to the local community for over 80 years, and as Chair of Trustees I want to reassure you that this will continue. Having recently launched our refreshed KYC brand and new website, and welcoming our new patron, George Clarke from Channel 4’s Restoration Man, we are very much focussed on preparing for the future and continuing to meet the changing needs of young people.

We wish Stu all the best for his new challenge in the youth work sector, and look forward to continuing to work with our staff, partners and the community to provide for the children and young people in the local area. We want to build on the work of Stu and the team and maintain the presence we’ve had in the Clapham Park area, adjusting and adapting to changes for the many years now ahead.
